Abstract

340,863. Casement stays. PARKER, WINDER & ACHURCH, Ltd., and BATES, W. E., Broad Street. Birmingham. March 1, 1930, No. 6813. [Class 65 (i).] In a casement stay of the type pivoted at one end to the window or window-sill and engaging at the other end with the other hinged member, the engaging end of the stay 5 carries a pin 8 which permanently engages with a slot in a plate 9 fixed to the hinged member. Hinged to the plate 9 is a locking-plate 13, having a row of holes or recesses 14, which is arranged so that it cannot be left in the raised position and is therefore always in engagement with the pin or resting on the pin ready to be automatically engaged when the window begins to swing. In a modification, the pin is fixed to the window or window-sill and the slotted plate and locking-plate are carried by the stay.
