May 27, 1930, No. 16313. Convention date, May 27, 1929. [Class 83 (iv).] A rolling-mill 10 has the rolls driven by separate electric motors 13, 14, the upper roll being adjustable by screw-down mechanism and being connected to its motor through universal joints 16, 17. The motors are electrically controlled so as to run in either direction and to maintain equality of speeds or if desired slight inequality so as to compensate for unequal size of rolls such as produced by wear.
