Abstract

326,610. Sturtevant, S. H. Jan. 22, 1929. Capsules and like closures; stoppers with valves.-The disc closure a, for milk bottles &c., is formed or provided with a tab b, and is cut or scored as at c, d inwardly towards the centre, so that by pulling the tab, the closure can be ruptured along the lines c, d to provide a pouring aperture. The ruptured strip b<1> may be replaced again as a closure, if desired; or the tab may be used for the complete removal of the closure. The strip and tab may be strengthened with fabric &c., and the tab, instead of forming part of the disc, may be formed by an extension of the fabric.
