Foot-arch supports. - A foot-arch support consists of a pad 11, which may be tapered from the centre outwards and of ovoid shape in plan, having spacedapart pins 12 projecting from its underside and adapted to be inserted in orifices 14 in the inner sole 10 of the boot or shoe to secure detachably and adjustably the pad to the sole. The pins 12 may be connected to or punched out of a plate 13 which is embedded in the pad. A strip 15 of leather, canvas or other covering material may be secured to the undersurface of the sole 10. In a modification, Fig. 7, a thin plate 17 of metal, fibre, &c., is secured to the top or bottom of the sole 10 and has orifices 17 which register with the orifices 14 in the sole. The pad 11 may be of two-ply leather with a filler of metal, rubber, leather or composition, or may be made wholly of rubber or composition.
