Abstract

509,855. Shoe soles. FISCH, A. Feb. 12, 1938, No. 4470. [Class 17 (ii)] A shoe sole of rubber or other resilient material has the tread of the whole of its forepart d, Fig. 1, in the same plane as the heel, the foot being supported in a normal position on a resilient thickening 5 provided at the front end. Downwardly projecting studs 2 extending to the plane of tread of fore and heel parts support the longitudinal arch of the foot. Resilient thickening means, e.g. by longitudinal and transverse webs forming cells, may also be provided at the heel and under the foot arch on the inner side, while under the ball of the foot the sole may be corrugated transversely. The sole is provided with an upstanding peripheral wall with out-turned flange 7, for attachment of upper and a resilient covering or insertion 12 is provided on the top surface. After attachment of out-turned edge of upper to flange 7 of sole, the upper is turned to the position shown in Fig. 5, with the flange 7 extending over top face of covering 12 at its edges.
