Mountings; pumps with reciprocating and rotating pistons. - A double-acting lubricating pump c, such as that described in Specification 252,215, is so formed that it may be inserted as a unit with a working fit in a bore formed in the wall of the sump or crankcase of a motor cycle &c. engine, the pump barrel having suction and delivery ports which register with ducts t, u communicating respectively with the oil tank and the engine. The plunger a is rotated by means of worm teeth f thereon engaging a worm g driven by the engine, and is reciprocated by a fixed pin engaging a cam groove b. The pump may deliver through two ducts u, v of different diameters feeding different points. The other end of the plunger may draw oil from the sump and deliver it through a duct x to the oil tank. A pair of double-acting pumps may be arranged side by side and driven by a single driving member carrying two worms, or by a single worm arranged between them.
