Driving-chains with separate joint pins.-In chains of the kind wherein each joint comprises a pair of profiled members 1, 2 bearing upon one another with sliding pivotal friction about a single axis, the part 13 of each hole in the link plates wherein a pivot member moves relatively to the plate is cut away or enlarged so that the said member is out of contact with it, thereby eliminating friction between these parts. Each member 1 may have a convex rib 6 bearing with sliding friction in a concave groove in the member 2, as shown in Fig. 1, or both members 1, 2 may have similar concave grooves engaging opposite sides of a cylindrical journal pin 6<1>, Fig. 7, between them.
