Abstract

318,676. Cross, J. W., and Nesta, Ltd. June 9, 1928. Reversible seats. -A reversible seat comprises in combination a seat proper carrying pairs of pins near to its front and rear edges, adapted to engage inclined cam slots in the fixed structure of the seat, fixedly pivoted levers carrying the seat back and links connecting these levers with the seat proper whereby swinging movement of the back imparts a horizontal and a tilting movement to the, seat. Fig. 1 shows such a seat, pins 3 on the seat proper 1 engaging slots 4 in the frame 2, and the back 10 being carried by levers 6, pivoted at 7, one of which is connected by the link 12 to the seat 1. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the seat member 1 is retracted as the back is swung over, instead of being advanced as in the construction of Fig. 1. In Fig. 7, a modification is shown wherein a single lever 18 is provided at each side of the back 10, the link 22 being pivoted at 21 to the framework.
