313,581. Kaspers, A. J. T. June 15, 1928, [Convention date]. Actuating pumps by fluid-pressure motors.-A motor drives an air compressor delivering to a receiver having a relief valve, and is connected in the main so that the whole or part of the water supply passes through the motor, actuating it whenever any tap in the system is turned on; the relief valve prevents the pressure drop through the motor exceeding the difference between the main supply and distribution pressures. The Figure shows a reciprocating motor in which the motor supply and discharge valve b (shown diagrammatically in two parts) is actuated through a lever by stops on the common piston rod f of the motor i and compressor h. In a modification, the compressor is driven by a water turbine. Specification 20006/10 is referred to.
