Abstract

312,860. Gibson, J. L. Aug. 7, 1928. Rotating to ensure even wear; buffer chambers.-A non-return lift valve has the face of the valve member 18 provided with one or more pockets 25, having inclined bottom surfaces 26 acted on by the flowing fluid to rotate the valve but adapted to be closed by the seat when the valve is closed, so that they act as buffer chambers. The valve is guided by ribs 20 engaging the seat aperture and has a socket to receive a tail on adjustable stop 15. The stop is provided with a flange having a buffering groove 27 where it engages the valve member.
