Abstract

305,820. Geddes, W. J. Feb. 14, 1928. Tees.-A portable golf tee is constructed with a wedge - shaped base piece, containing a circular recess to hold the ball, and is provided with a hinged peg or spike to fix the tee in the ground. The base consists of an inclined part A, a horizontal part containing the recess B, and a flat underside. The inclined part A terminates in a pronged lip G. A spike D is hinged to the underside of the base, and has a shoulder to limit its forward position as shown, and when not in use folds up into a recess. The curved shape of the spike facilitates its withdrawal from the ground in the event of the tee being struck by a golf club.
