Mould and core materials.-A lining for metal moulds to be applied with a brush or the like comprises a powdered refractory or carbonaceous material mixed with an oily carbonaceous liquid. Thus powdered clay, lime, sand, quartz, ganister, mica schist dolomite, bauxite, brick flotation tailings, coal, coke, charcoal or graphite may be mixed with lubricating or crude oil, petroleum, or bar oil of the paraffin series.
