Abstract

299,145. Longley, A. H., and Longley, R. R., (trading as Longleys). Sept. 5, 1927. Buffers.-Pit tubs, wagons, and the like are adapted to be detachably secured to an underframe composed of sides and ends either integral or built up of metal of any convenient crosssection. As shown the side members a of the underframe comprise beams of Z-section connected together by end members b of L-section. The body f of the pit tub may be seated on the top flanges of the side members a or it may be provided with a well which takes into the, underframe. The end members b are provided with rounded corners d to accommodate buffering means and with apertures e for the draw gear. Strengthening members g, h may be provided.
