The lengths of the linkage arms can be adjusted by sliding them through the central pivots J, K and L, M. To maintain the links BL, BM parallel to the links AJ, AK respectively these links are all extended below the pivots AB and are connected by pivoted links e, f, the length of each of which is equal to the distance AB.
