Elements moving always in one plane, rotating.- Advertising matter on a stationary disc s is seen intermittently through two coaxial discs d, c rotating at, different speeds by a coupling consisting of rubber discs k fixed on the driving shaft of the disc d and pressed by a nut m adjustably against the disc c. The disc d is opaque and provided with one or more openings, and the disc c is of glass, celluloid, or other transparent or translucent material divided into sectors, some of which ane coloured and others left transparent or provided with apertures. The discs d, c, s may be removable for substitution. and more than one of them may be employed simultaneously. The discs d, c may be rotated by electric or clockwork motor or by hand. Coloured or ordinary lamps g may be provided to illuminate the sign either by transmitted or by reflected light. The sign may be adapted for suspensior. and have two faces, or may be combined with a fan by providing vanes b, either separate or mounted on the disc d. The fan may oscillate or rotate about an axis parallel to the discs to display the advertisement in different directions.
