Abstract

289,138. Cooper, M. K. Jan. 19, 1927. Vacuum cleaners.-Two suction fans 10 are mounted in separate housings 4 on a common spindle 11 frictionally driven by a floor wheel 13 which is mounted in an adjustable pivoted stirrup 15 so that rearward movement of the machine disengages the drive. A rotary brush 23 is mounted in the suction nozzle, and its spindle is kept in driving contact with the floor wheel by a spring 30. In a modified form the wheel 13 forms the rear supporting wheel of the, apparatus and is mounted on a link connected by a. rod with the brush spindle.
