Abstract

Vacuum cleaners.-The suction hood has a brush driven from the motor shaft, and a series of beaters individually mounted to swing loosely on a spindle or drum driven from the shaft. Fig. 2 shows rods c carrying loose brushes d and beaters e; the rods are carried by plates b mounted on a shaft driven by a pulley f. The shaft is held in a removable bearing or bearings g, Fig. 1, adjusted as to height within guides j by levers k, l actuated by a Bowden wire m. The brushes and beaters may be disposed alternately side by side on a common shaft.
