Abstract

285,617. Walton, M. Dec. 29, 1926. Dust caps for tyre valves.-A dust cap of the kind fitted internally with a spring-pressed plunger adapted to engage the top of the valve stem and secured by a bayonet joint connection to a nut on the valve stem has the bayonet slot inclined. The plunger 18 has a grooved neck 20 to engage the lower convolution of a spring 22 and is recessed at 25 to receive a washer 24 itself recessed at 26 to accommodate the valve spindle 11. The cap 13 has a knurled part 14 and the inclined part 30 of the bayonet slot terminates in a recess 32 in which a pin 33 on the nut 12 is locked by a screwed member 17<A> screwed into the top of the cap to press the washer on to the top of the valve stem.
