Abstract
283,374. Schultz, G. L. Mesman-. March 29, 1927. Litters. - In stretchers and sleeping frames of the type comprising side beams a single rigid beam at each end and a berth adapted to be stretched by adjustment of the beams, the berth 6 is secured to the side members 2 only, which at their ends embrace the rigid transverse beams 1 in such a manner that the embracing pieces are slidable along the transverse beams and adapted to be fixed thereto. The side members 2 comprise tubes having flattened ends 3 adapted to embrace the end members 1 and to be adjusted thereon and secured by pins or hooks 4 and apertures 5. Feet 7 may be secured to the end members 1 when the device is adapted for use as a camp bed. Fig. 4 shows a lever arrangement for engagement with the side members to stretch the supporting surface.
