Abstract

283,325. Seeley, A. Dec. 18, 1926. Bobbins, tubes, &c.-To enable cylindrical or conical cheeses, cops, or other yarn masses 10 to be connected together as in Fig. 5 and unwound continuously one after another without interruption, the holders 1, such as bobbins, tubes, &c. are provided with a channel or channels 9 and nicks 4, 5 in which the yarn &c. is laid before winding the mass. On completion of the winding. this inner end is withdrawn from the channels and secured to the outer end of the next succeeding yarn mass. In using the bobbin shown in Figs. 6 and 7, the free end 20 is engaged with the end nick 13 and led therethrough to the bore 14 and out therefrom through the nick 15 along the channel 11, through the top end nicks 16, 17, down the channel 12 through the nick 18 to the bore 14 and out again through the nick 19 after which the winding proper is started.
