Abstract

Pedals and pedal levers.-In order to prevent wear of the clutch and operating mechanism caused by the driver's foot resting on the clutch pedal, means are provided adapted to utilize the weight of the foot to counteract its effect on the clutch pedal. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, a lever 12 is pivoted or fixed at 14 to the clutch pedal arm 13 and a fulcrum block 15 is provided on the floor-board, so that the weight of the toe of the foot acting on the pedal 10 is balanced by the weight of the heel acting on the lever 12 at the other side of the fulcrum block. A buffer may be provided between the free end of the lever 12 and the floor. In the construction shown in Fig. 5, an arm 21 is fixed to the clutch pedal shaft 11 and a heel plate 23 acts on this arm through a stem 22.
