Abstract

279,018. Galland, C. A. Oct. 13, 1926, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Boxes combined with brushes.-The stem of a toothbrush is pivoted to a handle which is in two or more parts hinged together and is adapted to serve as a casing for the brush when the latter is turned inwardly about its pivot. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the stem 11 of the brush 12 is pivotally connected to a crank member 8 which is secured to part 2 of a casing in three parts 1, 2, 3, hinged together. The casing when closed may form a handle for the brush when in use or a housing for the brush when the latter has been folded inwardly. In the construction shown in Fig. 7 the casing comprises two parts 1<1>, 3<1>, hinged together, and a part 2<1> integral with the part 1<1>. A cranked member 8<1> secured to the part 2<1> is adapted to bear against the stem of the brush and to co-operate with grooved portions of the casing whereby the brush is held rigidly in either its extended or folded position.
