Abstract

272,837. Akt.-Ges, Brown, Boveri, et Cie. June 21, 1926, [Convention date]. Addition to 252,702. Blades.-The reaction blading for turbines as claimed in the parent Specification is modified so that the envelope of the circles inscribed in the blade passage when erected on the developed centre line 4 of the blade passage consists of a curve 5 concave at the inlet and convex at the outlet with the tangent at the point of inflexion 8 inclined at an angle greater than 16‹. A line joining points 12, 13 on the curve which are distant from the inflexion point 8 a length equal to the radius of an inscribed circle 11 at the inflexion point is also inclined at an angle greater than 16‹. The blades are thinned at the outlet end beyond the parallel guiding portion. The blade pitch is at least 0.7 times the axial width.
