Ordnance, built - up. - Mountain howitzers or the like, in which the breech portion 4 is connected to the bore portion 1 by interrupted threads 2, 3 having radial clearance, have the flanks 5, 5a of the threads lying on the surfaces of imaginary cones or conoids having a common apex P, or approximately coincident apices, lying on the axis of the bore. This construction allows of instant removal of the breech portion from the bore portion even when the parts are unequally expanded.
