Planes, construction of. - A seaplane having floats b as described in the parent Specification is provided with auxiliary floats d arranged inside the supporting plane and consisting of watertight compartments at the free ends or extending throughout the length of the wing. When the thickness of the float is greater than that of the wing it Is provided with a supporting plane section o which prevents balancing of the air pressures above and below the wing by leakage across the tip. The wing may be made in three parts, the hinged nose and edge being designed as floating bodies if desired. The central part is provided with spar insets to serve as covers to facilitate riveting operations during construction. The float mav consist of an inflated rubber pocket. A drain plug may be provided in each float chamber.
