Abstract

264,138. Huret, A. J. A. Jan. 7, 1926, [Convention date]. Travelling-gear.-Otter boards F are connected to the towing cables B, Q. A by a line connection F<1>, Q, so that the board has complete freedom. The length of the line connection may be fixed or may be varied from the ship during use to suit the desired disposition of the trawl net. Additional cables B, F may be used between the ship and the otter boards. The otter boards may be flat or kidney-shaped and buoyant with or without a keel, or may have both buoyant part and sinker so that they will stand erect on the floor of the sea. In use they may move along the sea bed, on the surface of the water or at some intermediate level.
