Abstract

Spray carburettors.-The main nozzle h is situated below the normal level i of the fuel supply and opens into the bottom of a U-shaped branch air passage a, fuel from the main nozzle, or from an overflow chamber j surrounding the nozzle, being supplied by a pipe m to a small nozzle k situated in a subsidiary air passage l communicating with the main air passage on the air inlet side of the throttle b, and having an outlet t adapted to be uncovered by the opening movement of the throttle. In a modification, the branch air passage g is dispensed with, the main nozzle opening directly into the main air passage a, which is U-shaped, or is provided with a narrow curved recess at the bottom of which the nozzle is situated, to provide a receptacle for the overflow of fuel. The barrel throttle b may be replaced by a butterfly valve. Specification 213,815 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
