Magnetic instruments. -A reed adapted to rest on the edge of a receiver casing, or upon a shoulder within it, and to be connected to a large diaphragm which vibrates as a whole, is formed with short arcuate portions 10 and a central armature portion 11 united by thin radial strips 12. The reed is connected to a large diaphragm by a stem 13. A loud speaker may be fitted at will with a magnetic diaphragm of ordinary form or with a large diaphragm vibrated by the reed.
