259,068. Meyer, A. Dec. 14, 1925. Screw propellers in which the blades are supported in two rings carried by arms on the boss are constructed with stream-line envelopes freely mounted on the arms. A stationary regenerator propeller of sinular construction may be fitted behind the main propeller. The propeller ring A, Fig. 1, is connected to the boss j by arms a and supplementary struts b which are screwed into the aluminium segments on the ring g and at the root the arms b are gripped between two portions of the boss. The arms and struts are stepped and the various sections are fitted with stream line shells each made up of two plates riveted together with freedom to swing on the tubular arm. The shorter envelopes c, Fig. 3, have parallel sections, but longer sections c<1> have a slight helical setting, and washers d, d<1> are inserted between the sections. The stationary propeller B has arms l but no struts and in the propeller A the struts may be dispensed with. Ia a modification the ring g is of hollow stream line section and made in two parts riveted together.
