Abstract
257,554. Bemberg Akt.-Ges., J. P. Oct. 3, 1925, [Convention date]. Skein holders and swifts.-A reel on which artificial silk is wound has cross bars c, f radially movable in the frame formed by the fixed bars a, b, d, e, and the spiders h, Fig. 1, the bars c, f being connected by links g to the shaft i which is axially slidable in the frame. The reel is held in the extended position, Fig. 5, by a member k pivoted at l, which is moved out of contact with the spider h when the reel is collapsed, as shown in Fig. 6. Alternatively, the reel may be held extended by deflecting the links g beyond their dead-centre, Fig. 7, in which position they. are held by the tension of the yarn. The reel is preferably manufactured from acid-proof steel, and is stated to be especially suitable for use in the cuprammonium silk industry.
