Abstract

276,290. Br³gger, X. June 7, 1927. C r e e l arrangements; skein-holders and swifts; threadguides; tension arrangements. - Each skein - holder from which the thread is unwound in a varnwinding machine comprises a number of swifts 17, 18, 19, Fig. 1, mounted between radial arms 11, 12, 13 forming a frame which is adjustable axially on a shaft 2 and may be rotated thereabout to bring the different swifts into the working position. The shaft 2 is formed with h longitudinal grooves 3, 4, 5, Fig. 4, into which a ball 8 is spring-pressed to retain the frame in its set position. The yarn in unwinding passes through a guide 23, Fig. 5, on a tension-compensating member 21 which carries a sliding weight 22 and is pivoted at 20 to each radial arm 11, 12, 13.
