Starting. - In an engine in which lubricant is drawn by the suction of the engine from a reservoir 3 through an adjustable sight feed device 5, a union 10, and. a pipe 11 to the induction pipe of the engine, the union is provided with a cock 12, the casing of which is provided with a cup 13. At starting, fuel may be drawn into the induction pipe from the cup 13 to provide a rich mixture.
