Abstract

247,899. Remund, P. Feb. 23, 1925, [Convention date]. Vaporizers, external. - The combustible mixture, formed by admitting crude oil through a pipe 14 into a stream of air heated by the exhaust, passes through a smoothwalled pipe 9. 8, 18, 19, part of which is enclosed in a box 7 into which the exhaust ports 5 open. The box is insulated by layers of sheet iron and asbestos and is surrounded by an air jacket from which the air passes to the pipe 9. A valve 10 in the air pipe and a cock 20 in the fuel pipe are controlled simultaneously. The crude oil is supplied from a tank 17, but a three-way cock 15 enables light fuel from a tank 16 to be used at starting.
