Abstract

247,719. English Electric Co., Ltd., and Hassler, E. H. H. Jan. 19, 1925. Brush - holders. - In brush-holders for two brushes arranged one behind the other circumferentially, the brushes are pressed against the commutator by separate springs bearing on a single head which can be adjusted to regulate the tension of the springs. The invention is shown as adapted to a holder of the type described in Specification 176,225. The springs consist of steel strips 3, 4 bearing on the brushes 1. 2 and pivoted to a head 6. A projection 12 on the head 6 engages with rack teeth 14 on a bracket 9, and a projection 13 on the head passes through a slot in the bracket and is formed with lateral projections bearing on the back of the bracket. The head 6 can be adjusted by means of a handle 15.
