Abstract

313,267. Juhlin, G. A., Townend, R., and Associated Electrical Industries, Ltd. April 30, 1928. Brush-holders.-The brushes 3 are disposed circumferentially of the commutator or slip-ring and are urged forward by resilient extensions 5 of bell-crank levers 6. Webs 8, integral with the base 1 of the holder, secure a pin 7 upon which the levers 6 are mounted. Tension spring 10, adjustable through the medium of screws 12 and nuts 13 are secured between the holder bracket 11 and curved links 9 which are pivotally connected to ends of the levers 6. On rotation of the bellcrank levers the tensioning devices are placed in an inoperative stationary position in which the links 9 abut against the enlarged portions of the levers 6. The brush slots 2 are inclined to one another in order that the brush faces may be brought into close proximity; the separating tapering web 4 may be omitted.
