Coating non-metallic surfaces with metals. - Imitation silk or brocade wallpaper is produced by uniting by means of an infusible adhesive a web of paper, fed from a roll. with aluminium foil from .01 to .02 mm. thick, the aluminium foil being covered with adhesive and pasted to the paper in a single operation. A hard foil is preferably used and it may be ornamented by colouring, printing or embossing.
