241,308. Nott, C. H. July 26, 1924. Band; blocks acting on drums.-An external band brake for the road wheels of vehicles comprises two sections B, B<1> normally held clear of the brake drum by springs P, P', and adapted to be engaged with it by a roc. N acting on bellcrank levers D, D<1> respectively pivoted at E, E<1> and connected to the ends of the band sections by tension and compression :inks H, L and H', L<1>. According to the Provisional Specification, brake shoes may replace the sections B, B'. Specification 3368/15 is referred to.
