Abstract

Overlap joints with packing compressed radially on assembly.-A packing washer, which is especially applicable for tyre pressure-gauges and pipe couplings, consists of a resilient ring D<2>, preferably of rubber, having a non-deformable outer edge E<2>, preferably formed by a metal ring vulcanized in position. The ring E<2> may be of rectangular or trapezoidal section and engages a shoulder F<2> formed by a screwed-in ring, or by spinning over the edge of the casing. The lower face of the washer D<2> may be flat or flared.
