762,086. Couplings. BRITISH TYRE & RUBBER CO., Ltd., and BEAZLEY, T. A. April 2, 1953 [April 7, 1952], No. 9272/53. Divided out of 762,072. Drawing to Specification. Class 99(1) In hose end units in which the hose comprises a lining tube of rubber &c. and an outer layer of wire &c. reinforcement which is gripped between two parts of an end fitting, a fluid-tight seal is provided at a zone displaced along the hose from the gripping zone, by means of an annular flap formed by an end portion of the lining tube, which flap is urged into engagement with a surrounding internal surface on the fitting by the fluid pressure inside the hose, the flap has an initial pressure engagement with the surface by radial compression of the material of the flap between the surface and a member within the flap. The units described are the same as those described in Specifications and include that described in Specification 762,165 referred to.
