Abstract

237,858. Holtzman, J., and Seaman, H. C. July 31, 1924, [Convention date]. Razors, safety. A holder in which the blade to 'be stropped is held between a pair of bladeholders pivoted centrally of a tubular handle so that the support can be turned to either side of the pivot between the spaced side portions of the handle, has a blade-holder provided with a flexible guard extending adjacent a cutting-edge of the blade and normally lying substantially in the plane thereof but adapted to bend away from the edge when the blade is being stropped or sharpened. As shown a pair of blade-holders 25, 35 are pivoted at 26 between the sides 21 of the handle 20 and have flexible guards 28, 38 respectively connected to the members bv flexible arms 27, 37. One member 35 carries locking ears 40 which extend through the perforations in the blade 45 and openings 30 in the member 25 and the ends of the members are formed with depressions 29, 39 which frictionally engage and lock the blade-holders together.
