Abstract

Railway locomotives, turbine. - Comprises a turbine locomotive in which at least two turbines 1, 2, working in parallel, are arranged on one side of the central longitudinal plane of the locomotive, and are provided with an exhaust branch 7 common to both turbines. The exhaust branch is connected to condensers 8, 10, 11, arranged as shown. Either or both of the rear-most condensers 10, 11 may be dispensed with. The turbines drive the axles through trains of toothed gearing and coupling-rod mechanism. Groups of turbines may be employed, e.g. one group may be on the locomotive and one on the tender; in this case one group may consist solely of ahead turbines, and the other of astern turbines.
