229,014. Melhuish, A. E., (Acro Akt.-Ges.). Nov. 19, 1923. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-A fuel injector comprises a spraying valve 60 the conical tip 67 of which projects into the combustion chamber, grooves 68 being provided either as shown in the valve, or alternatively in the valve seating, in order to promote the atomization of the fuel. The edges of the grooves 68 and of the injection orifice 66 are sharp. The valve 60 is lifted by the pressure of the fuel against the reaction of a spring-pressed plunger 49 which bears against the upper end 61 of the valve 60. A collar 62 is provided to limit the upward movement of the valve; this movement may amount to 0.02 mm. only. Specification 20758/11 is referred to.
