Abstract

400,836. Liquid-fuel injectors. SCHWEIZERISCHE LOKOMOTIVUND MASCHINENFABRIK, Winterthur, Switzerland. March 13, 1933, No. 7641. Convention date, March 19, 1932. [Class 7 (iii).] Apertures 5 are provided behind the fuel-injection orifices 4 in a nozzle cap 1, through which a tool 6 can be inserted to work on the orifices 4. The orifices 4 and the apertures 5 may have their axes inclined differently with the axis of the injector. The can 1 is screwed on to the end of the injector 3 to prevent leakage of fuel, and is pressed against shoulders 14 on the cylinder head by screws 13. In modified constructions, (1) the cap 1 is a loose fit on the injector 3, and packing between the injector and the cap is compressed by the screws to form a liquid-tight seal ; and (2) the injector is formed without a needle valve.
