Abstract

Securing gear-wheels, clutch parts, &c. on shafts.-Interchanging serrations e<2> on the shaft e and wheel &c. d transmit the greater part of the drive, positioning being secured by conical surfaces e<1>, the smaller diameters of which approximate to those of the inner ends of the serrations. A hollow e<3> may separate the serrations and cone on the shaft. The serrations are prolonged to cut into the cone surfaces upon the wheel but not upon the shaft.
