Seats, arrangement of. - In motor vehicle bodies, the supporting structure for the seats is in the form of a transverse girder of sufficient stiffness not only to serve as cross-ties for the base frame but also to support the seat load without assistance from the body sides which are supported either independently or by the seats. As shown, the transverse girder A is I-shaped and connects the frame members B. Light girders C, carried by the girder A, serve as framing for the body sides and spars B as framing for the seat-backs. In a modification, the transverse girder is of channel form.
