Abstract
223,773. A.M.A.C., Ltd., and Guy, W. L. Dec. 15, 1923. Spray carburettors.- In carburettors wherein a plug throttle valve C slides across the air passage A, A<2>. and two or more. nozzles F, G are provided of which F is a pilot nozzle, the inlet of the choke tube D<2> of the pilot nozzle is connected by a passage D<3> with the outlet of the choke tube D<5> of the nozzle G which next comes into action. The throttle slides in a casing B, and its lower end is flat to co-operate with the flat upper surface of a block D into which the nozzles and the securing bolt E<2> for the float chamber E are screwed. Between the choke tubes. and forming part of the passage D<3>, is a well D<4> which may be shut off from the main air passage wholly or partly by an air-control plug H slidable in the throttle plug and the lower end of which may be notched at H<3>. The air inlet end of the throttle may be bevelled at C<2>. During the period between the pilot nozzle going out of, and the next nozzle coming into action air. carburetted by the next nozzle, is drawn along the passage D' and is added to the output from the pilot nozzle and thus prevents the formation of " flat spots."
