Stop-motions.-A broken-end stopmotion for a yarn winding or like machine comprises a yarn finger 27 for each thread x which is normally supported by the thread in the position shown in full lines in Fig. 1. On breakage of the yarn the finger 27 pivots about the spindle 26, and its inner arm is lifted by the wiper 14 and, lying flat against the plate 15 which carries the spindle 26, lifts the said plate and thereby causes an arm 17 to rock the stop-lever 33. The inner arm of the finger 27 and the plate 15 during operation by the wiper 14 rotate as a solid unit. Opposite ends of the plate 15 are secured respectively to the bearing 16 of the cranked member 17, and to a bearing 21 supported from an arm 24. The plate 15 is provided with a dust-shield 34.
