Abstract

A hair-curler is formed by a substantially cylindrical solid body 10 and a net 11 which may be releasably mounted onto said body in order to secure a lock of hair to the body. At least the cylindrical body is made of a material e.g. low density polyethylene which may be heated by immersion into a hot liquid and slowly gives up stored heat to the lock of hair. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Hair curler This invention relates to a hair-curler which may be heated and slowly gives up the stored heat to the users' hair.
There are hair-curlers at present time which are heated by slipping them onto special appendixes of apparatuses which are either provided with electric resistance heating means, or which contain a liquid which is heated when the hair-curler is introduced into a source of heat.
The hair-curlers of these and other types which are vailable in the market today, have the function of ceding siowly their heat to the hair wound on them, so as to enhance the formation of the wave without requiring the aid of electric hair-driers.
The invention proposes now a new type of such hair-curlers, which is formed by a solid cylindrical body onto which, after having wound it on the lock of hair, a net is applied, so as to retain in position the lock of hair in a stable manner.
According to the invention, the cylindrical body is made of such a material that the hair-curler may be simply immersed into hot water to accumulate heat in a short time; and give up such heat once it has been located onto the lock of hair, in a sufficiently long time so as to form the desired wave.
The main properties of this hair-curler are constructional simplicity and extreme easiness of use, inasmuch as it does not require either electric apparatuses for heating it, or the introduction of heating liquids or materials into its body.
To attain these further objects which will be better understood from the following description, the invention proposes to provide a hair-curler, characterised in being comprised of a solid substantially cylindrical body and a net whch may be removably applied onto the said body, at least the cylindrical body being made of a material which may be heated by immersion into a hot liquid and slowly gives up heat to a lock of hair onto which it is applied.
The hair-curler according to the invention will now be described with reference to the annexed drawings in which: Figure 1 is a front view showing the complete hair-curler according to the invention, Figure 2 and 3 are front views showing the two elements forming the hair-curler of Fig. 1, Figure 4 is a side view of the element shown in Fig. 3.
The hair-curler according to the invention is composed simply of a solid cylindrical body 10, advantageously made of plastics; for example a low density polyethylene.
Onto the cylindrical body there is applied, it may be in a snap fashion, a net 11. The net may be made of plastics, elastically yielding in order to be spread apart to a sufficient extent at the aperture 12 whose width is smaller than the cross-section of the body 10 so that only a manual action will uncouple the two elements affter their application onto a lock of hair.
The plastics, and more exactly the low density polyethylene, is such that when immersing the haircurler, be it only the body 10thereof or also the net 11, into hot water, the hair-curler will be heated and will keep the heat for a long time; the curler will give up its heat slowly to the lock of hair wound around the hair-curler in order to make it assume the required wave.
1.A A hair-curler, characterised in being composed of a solid substantially cylindrical body and a net which may be releasably applied onto the said body, at least the cylindrical body being made of a material which may be heated by immersion in a hot liquid, and which slowly gives up its heat to a lock of hair wound about it.
2. A hair-curler as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the cylindrical body is made of low density polyethylene.
3. A hair-curler as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the net is formed by an element made of plastics and configured like a longitudinally open cylinder, which is releasably engagable, in a snap-on fashion, onto the side surface of the cylindrical body.
4. A hair-curler substantially as described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
