Abstract

1,153,369. Hair rollers. INITIAL PLASTICS Ltd. 28 May, 1968 [3 Aug., 1967], No. 35653/67. Heading A4V. A hair roller comprises a solid core 1 of heat resistant plastics material and a clipon outer shell 2 of resilient plastics material. The core, which may be made of polythene, is preferably cylindrical and waisted at its middle portion 3, with rows of teeth 4 at 90 degree intervals around its surface. The shell may be of horseshoe shaped section, and has an inwardly extending flange 6 at each end for engagement in a corresponding groove 5 in the core. In use the core is heated by immersion in boiling water; a lock of hair is then wrapped around its surface and the shell clipped over the core to secure the hair.
