Abstract

214,978. Soc. Industrielle Suisse, (Assignees of Furrer, A.). April 25, 1923, [Convention date]. Machine guns.-The breech-block of an automatic gun having a recoiling barrel and a breech body, has its movement controlled by a link pivoted to the breech body and also, at its rear end, to another link pivoted to the fixed frame. As shown, the breech-block 5 is connected to the recoiling-body 2 by a toggle linkage., the, rear link 7 of which is connected by a pivot 8 to the breech body 2 and by a pivot 9 to a link 10 pivoted to the fixed frame 3 by a pivot 11. To relieve the pivot pins of the pressure of the explosion, an enlargment 12 on the front link engages behind the breech-block and in front of shoulders 13 on the rear links, and 'lateral projections 14 on the boss of the rear link engage corresponding grooves in the breech body. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also firing-mechanism whereby the gun can be fir,ed automatically during the forward movement of the barrel before it reaches its forward position. The sear 19, Fig. 6, (Cancelled), pivoted on the breech body, is actuated by a cam on a rod 22 connected to the trigger 20. When the trigger is pulled fully back, as shown in Fig. 6, (Cancelled), the cam is in such a position that firing occurs before the forward movement is complete. When a stop 23 is turned so that the pull of the trigger is limited, the cam is in a more forward position, and firing is possible only when the barrel and breech body are completely forward. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
